Top 5 Tuesday: February 15th 2022

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Shanah @the Bionic Bookworm and is now being hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads. This week’s topic is Top 5 series I haven’t finished.

I am so glad that this prompt came up because I had been thinking about this topic for the past couple of weeks. I used to read primarily fantasy series but in the last 6-8 years I pretty much only read contemporary romance with a side of thrillers. I have been feeling the need though to re-introduce some fantasy series back into my reading. All 5 of these series I pretty much have every book in the series but have only read maybe half so I wanted to low key set a goal for myself to get caught up on at least one of them.

Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter – This is a thriller detective series that I accidentally picked up book 9 in the series with not realizing it so I have been slowly reading the series from the beginning. I have read books 1-5 and 9 – 10 of the 10 book series.

Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews – This is a paranormal romance / urban fantasy series. I have read the first 3 books in the series and need to read 4 & 5 before book 6 comes out in August of this year.

Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh – This is a fantasy romance series and I am on book 5 out of 14.

Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep – I started this fantasy series when it first started back in 2010 and made it through the first 5 books but it was about this time that I just stopped reading fantasy books altogether. There are 19 books in this series so I have a ways to go to get caught up.

Katherine “Kitty” Katt series by Gini Koch – This is another series I started way back when and just lost momentum on. It is a science fiction comedy romance and it is a little absurd but very funny. It looks like as of now there 16 finished books and I am on book 7.

What are some series that you would like to finish or at least get back to this year?

Top 5 Tuesday: February 8th 2022

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Shanah @the Bionic Bookworm and is now being hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads. This week’s topic is Top 5 books that have been on my TBR since forever.

There are many ways I could say what books have been on my TBR the longest so I decided to go with my Goodreads want to read shelf and if I had the physical book on my shelf as well.

Bring Up The Bodies by Hilary Mantel – Historical Fiction – This one has been on my Goodreads since 2012, while I don’t actually have this one on my physical TBR shelf I have been actively looking for it at used bookstores.

A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson – Fantasy – I used to love this series and waited anxiously for his next installment then after he passed I just had a hard time getting back into this series. It has been on my Goodreads since 2012 and I own the entire series because my husband has also read them.

Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham – Contemporary Fiction – I love Lauren Graham and wanted to read this one so bad! But here we are almost 9 years later and it is still on there waiting for me to read it. On my Goodreads since May 2013.

By A Thread by Jennifer Estep – Urban Fantasy – I used to love Urban Fantasy but over the years I slowly stopped reading it so a few series I have never completed but hav most of the books on my shelf. This one on Goodreads since December 2013.

Tower of Thorns by Juliet Marillier – Fantasy – If you have been reading my blog for awhile than you know I love Juliet Marillier but for some reason I have not continued this series! I am hoping to get back into reading some of my fantasy series this year. This one has been on my Goodreads since January 2016.

What are some books you would like to get to this year that you wanted to read in 2021?

What are some books you would like to get to this year that you wanted to read in 2021?

Reading Round Up – January 21st – 31st

Hi friends! Hope everyone had a great month. While mine started off pretty crappy it wasn’t bad overall. I read some good books and made good progress on some of my other things I have going on. Happy Reading my friends!

Running Wild by K.A. Tucker – 5 Stars Even though we are following new characters in this book I still love this series soooo much. We first meet Marie way back in book 1 and she is finally getting her HAE in this book. If you like books set in Alaska then you should check this series out. This one also goes into the Iditarod which I found really interesting to read about.

The Heart Principle by Helena Hoang – 4 Stars This book has all kinds of trigger warnings so I would look into those if you are someone who likes to know those ahead of time. I would also say that even though this book is considered a romance the book focuses more on personal growth and the romance is more in the back seat. That being said there are still lots of steamy parts to this book. Love this book and all 3 in the series as well.

It Started With A List by Tinia Montford – 3 Stars While I really liked the concept of this book I just had a really hard time liking the main character. She was ver immature and I found her hard to read at times. This book is also a new adult romance and I am learning as I get older that I just don’t enjoy these stories as much as I used too.

Meet Me In Paradise by Libby Hubscher – 4 Stars First of all this book broke me and I cried so much while reading it. Trigger warnings for death of loved ones. I have had this book since it released last year and I just kept putting it off because I knew it was going to hurt to read but I am so glad I finally got to it. This was a fun and beautifully written book and again I would say that the romance takes a back seat in this one to growth our main character goes through. Highly recommend this one.
