Reading Round Up – December 21st – 31st

Hi Friends! How was everyone’s new year? Good I hope. I have been pretty sick and went to bed at like 9:30 that night but we did play games with the kids and they had fun so that was good. Here is my last round up for 2021!

The Mane Attraction by Shelly Laurenston – 4 Stars – Reread. This is book 3 in The Pride series and we are following Sissy Mae who is a wolf shifter and the Alpha of the New York pack and Mitch who is a lion shifter and a cop on leave because he will be testifying in a murder trial. I really like this one because Sissy takes Mitch back to Tennessee and I love her family, they are so funny! This series doesn’t really need to be read in order in the early books so if you like fun and steamy shifter romances I would highly recommend this series.

Big Bad Beast by Shelly Laurenston – 4 Stars – Reread This one is number 6 in the series and we are following Sissy’s cousin Dee-Ann who is another wolf shifter from Tennessee and Ric who is a “fancy” wolf shifter. This is one of my favorites in the series, I love the dynamic of these two together because they are both so different. I would say this book is about the time that the series should be read in order. From here there is a bigger plot that overlays the rest of the series.

Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh – 4 Stars – Reread I really spent the entire month of December just rereading books that I knew I would enjoy and I chose this one as my last book for the year. I needed a word in a title that was a season for my buzzword challenge and this book is one of my favorites in one of my favorite series. This is book 13 in the Psy Changeling series and they should be read in order so I don’t want to say a lot about it. But if you like a grumpy hero, Vasic is one of the best!

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout – 4 Stars I finally read this one after many friends saying how good it is. I did enjoy it but I am having trouble now remembering what I read. I will continue on with the series some time in the new year.

Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston – 3 Stars – Reread I was pleasantly surprised when I started this reread to find out it takes place over Christmas!

The Beast In Him by Shelly Laurenston – 3 Stars – Reread I am making my way through this series again, I have been really in the mood for some fun paranormal romance and this series is perfect for that. Each book centers around one couple but all books are loosely connected and you get to see favorite characters come back.

November Reading Stats

Hi Friends! I know its a little late but here are my stats for November. I was in a small reading slump in that I was just finding it hard to focus on physical books so the majority of my reading last month was with audio books. I have also started teaching myself crochet in the last few months so listening to books while I do that has been fun. I read 12 books and my favorite was Once There Were Wolves followed closely by The Singles Table. My least favorite was the K.M. Jackson book and while I wanted to love it I just couldn’t. This is my second book by this author and the first was also very blah, I feel like she might just not be for me.
