Reading Round Up: December Part 1

Hello Friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend and if you celebrated anything I hope you had a wonderful time. We had two full days with family and I am tired! I am also still trying to find a balance with life, working and my blog so my round up is brief again! Let me know if you have read any of these and what your thoughts were!

Fable by Adrienne Young – 4 Stars Finally got around to reading this one! I really enjoyed it even though YA is not my jam but Adrienne Young is!!

The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka – 3 Stars This was an intense romance about two authors who have to work together again after not talking for years. Enjoyed it and will read from them again.

Namesake by Adrienne Young – 4 Stars Finished the duology and excited to read more from her.

More Than Memories by N.E. Henderson – 2 Stars Honestly can’t really remember a ton of this because I read it awhile ago and didn’t really enjoy it.

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison – 3 Stars Took me months to finish this KU book about a fake dating couple one of which owns a Christmas Tree Farm. It was cute but not a favorite. I still haven’t decided if I will continue with this series.

Reading Round Up: November Part 4

Hi Friends! I started a new job recently and I am falling so far behind on my blogging and especially my reviews. With that being said I am not sure how in depth my next few round ups will be.

Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs – 3.5 Stars Book 9 n the series and we are still following Mercy and her werewolf husband and his pack. I am still enjoying this series but I have taken a small break but hope to pick it back up again soon.

Just Like Magic by Sarah Hogle – 4 Stars I loved both of this author’s first two books but kept hearing mixed reviews on this on so I went into this one with low expectations. The premise of this one is why some people haven’t liked it is that the main character brings forth the personification of Holiday Spirit because she is such a grump about it. I loved Hall in this book and loved the idea of him being a human but loving everything about the holidays as well. This is a unique book and not rooted in any kind of reality but I thought it was fun and rooted for the couple the entire time. Highly recommend if you want something a little different for a holiday read.

The Family Game by Catherine Steadman – 3.5 Stars This was a fun thriller that takes place over Christmas! SO if you are looking for a holiday thriller than I would check this one out. The premise of this book is about a woman who is finally meeting her fiancé’s family during the holiday and gets invited to partake in the family games. The games were interesting but I could have used a little more of them. Still a fun read.

Lucy on the Wild Side by Kerry Rea – 4 Stars This was a cute romance between a zoo keeper and a wildlife tv show host. I personally wish there was less about the animals and more with the couple but thats just a personal preference. So if you are an animal lover than this one might be for you!

A Spinster’s Guide to Danger and Dukes by Manda Collins – 3 Stars This is third book in the A Lady’s Guide series that follows three woman as they find love in England as well as work for a newspaper. This one follows Poppy who we met in the previous books under the name Flora. Poppy fled her home a few years ago when her stepfather tried to marry her off, now Poppy has to return home and try to save her sister who was accused of killing her husband, the man Poppy was supposed to marry. On the way out of town Poppy receives help from her friend the Duke of Langeham. I thought this one was fun but not as good as the first book in the series. The book was still funny and I loved Poppy’s relationship with the Duke and I enjoyed the mystery that was going on in the background with the murder and a resurrected cult. I look forward to what Manda Collins writes next. Thank you Forever for my gifted copy for review!
