Friday’s are for The Let’s Talk Bookish Meme which is a weekly meme created and hosted by Rukky@EternityBooks and Dani@Literary Lion and todays topic is: UPDATING OLD CONTENT (NICOLE @ THOUGHTS STAINED WITH INK)
Prompts: Do you ever go back and update older content on your blog? For instance, after getting new graphics or going self-hosted? Why or why not? Do you sometimes curate/clear out old posts that you no longer want published, or rewrite/update them? Do you think people should periodically clean up their old content and update/delete things that don’t align with their current positions/beliefs.
Hello Friends! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! We got more snow dumped on us here in Colorado and I am so over it!! I am ready for warm weather and to lay in my hammock and read my books.
I have never really thought about this topic before but it did make me stop and think about updating my old content. I have been blogging now for just over two years so I do have quite a few posts but for the most part they are pretty bland. I also don’t see my older posts getting attention even from a few weeks ago so I feel like it would just be taking time away from other things I could be doing to update any of my old posts.
I do feel like maybe if there are any posts that contain authors who have since become very problematic that I might just go back and give a small update about that just to make sure people are aware. However, I feel like even that can be a slippery slope because it seems like every week one author or another is being “canceled” or called out for some reason or other.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you go back and update old posts or just leave them as they are? Let me know in the comments below!
