Hello Friends! I finally finished my last reading round up of March! I read 5 books and they were all mystery/thrillers. My favorite was Whiteout but they were all good reads.

Legacy by Nora Roberts – 4 Stars Adrian is a well known health influencer who got started as a baby with her mother’s company; Yoga Baby. When Adrain is 17 and launches her first solo project she starts receiving threatening poems every year. When she suffers a family loss, Adrian moves back to her home town and decides to move her base of operation to her grandparents home. Adrian survived a traumatic event when she is 7 years old and surrounds herself with people who will deal anything to help her. So when her stalker seems to start escalating, she has an entire town who is there to help her find out who the stalker is. This was a very fun and often times heartbreaking book to read. I can’t say how many times I cried while reading it. The friendships in this book are amazing as well as the family connections Adrian has. And the main love interest is so swoony and sweet! He has moved up to one of my favorite book boyfriends! There are many trigger warnings in this one, so I would recommend looking into these if you think you might need them. I can say abuse, murder, school shootings but there might be others as well. Thank you St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for my gifted review copy.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides – 4 Stars I am going to confess here and now that I almost always read the ending of book before I start it. My reason is that there are so many books that I want to read that if the ending doesn’t do it for me I move on to another book. So almost exactly a year ago I tried reading this one it was going slow and I was having a hard time getting into it so I looked at the ending and was like nope, I’m done. Fast forward a year and I am participating in March Mystery Madness and looking at my library for an audio book and decided to try this one again and man am I glad I did! This book is told from two perspectives in two different times. First we have the silent patient Alicia and we are getting her journal entries from the time leading up to when they found her holding a gun and her husband dead. Years later we are following Theo who is a psychotherapist and his journey to try and get Alicia to talk. This book took a few turns and even though I thought I knew the ending I did not. Highly recommend!

Thick As Thieves by Sandra Brown – 4 Stars This was my first book by Sandra Brown and I really enjoyed it. We are following Arden Maxwell who returns to her home town twenty years after leaving when her father ran off after robbing a local store. This book is told in two time lines and from multiple points of view. We get the story from 20 years ago when the robbery took place and from those who were involved. We also have present day with Arden moving back and dealing with the results of her father leaving. Like I said I really enjoyed this one. There was a mystery that had me guessing till the end and a small romance which is what I like to read 😁. Thank you @grandcentralpub for my #gifted copy!

Untamed Shores by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – 4 Stars After reading Mexican Gothic last year I fell in love with Silvia’s writing and I am slowly making my way through her back list. Untamed Shores was my second book and while I did not love it as much as Mexican Gothic it was still a great book! This one takes place in 1979 in Baja California in a small seaside village where fisherman butcher sharks that they catch. Viridiana is a well educated young woman who recently broke up with her boyfriend because she does not want the life that has been laid out for her. Often working as a translator for tourists she is hired to be a live in transcriber for a wealthy family that consists of a husband and wife and her brother. Viridiana is at once infatuated with the siblings and gets dragged into their affairs when one of their party ends up dead. While this book was a historical fiction it also had thriller elements and I enjoyed Viridiana’s story. Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s writing is so detailed and I could smell the dead sharks that she describes throughout the book. I can’t wait for my next read by her.

White Out by Danielle Girard – 5 Stars This was an interesting mystery because the main character Lily, regains consciousness after a car accident but has no idea who she is or how she got there. At the same time Detective Kylie Milliard finds a woman murdered and thrown into a dumpster. Lily and the dead woman have a connection but no one knows what it is. I always like police procedural thrillers and when you throw in amnesia and a tragic past I am a sucker for it. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series that coms out later this summer!
