Reading Round Up – February Part 1

Hi Friends! It’s been awhile since I last posted and I have no good reason why other than when I have days off I just don’t want to sit down and type. However, I miss this and hopefully can try and post at least once or twice a week but as with everything else in life, who knows!

Emily Wilde’s Map Of The Underworld by Heather Fawcett – 4 Stars I thought this was a fun continuation of Emily and Windell’s journey. I also loved the introduction of her niece, she added a little more to the story and I really enjoyed that. I am still loving this as like an academic journal and seeing all the footnotes that she leaves so that as a reader you don’t miss things that have happened in this world. This is such a fun way to world build.

Bad Luck Vampire by Lynsay Sands – 3.5 Stars I honestly don’t remember much about this one, I like her books and the world of the Argeneau Vampires but this one was not my favorite. We are getting Alasdair’s story in this one and he finally meets his life mate at a wedding and she is there with another vampire. What follows is a story of wooing with some help with Alasdair’s uncles who were born a very long time ago. The uncle’s were definitely my favorite parts of the story and I really hope we get to seem meet their life mates in future books! While this one was not my favorite I still can not recommend this series enough. Thank you Avon and Edelweiss for my gifted copy for review.

Heart to Heart by Sara Furlong Burr – 4 Stars I want to say upfront that I am friends with this author and she gifted me an early copy for review. This book follows Avery who decides to audition for a reality dating show and is very surprised when she gets picked. The man the women are competing for is disgraced actor, Tristan Tate.Normally I am not a fan of this style of book, where one of our main characters is dating multiple people but secretly likes one person. That being said this one really worked for me. The writing was really funny and the situations Avery gets into were pretty funny. If you are fan of dating show romances or just a really fun romance then be sure to pick this one up! This one came out in February and you can read it now.

Everything For You by Chloe Liese – 5 Stars This one was a re-read for me because I wanted a comfort read. I love all the books in this series but Oliver holds a special place for me and I just love his book so much!!!

Tress Of The Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson – 3 Stars This one was just ok for me. I felt the writing style to be hard to read at times as I could never tell whose point of view I was reading from, the narrator or the main character. I liked the adventure aspect of the story and Tress was a fun character but this was just a little too slow for me.

  1. I also loved the continuation of Emily Wilde’s story, and it makes me sad that so many others didn’t like it. I think the journal and the footnotes are what makes me love it so much. Can’t pass a good footnote story!!
