Let’s Talk Bookish: November 13th

Happy Friday book friends! It’s that time of the week for Let Talk Bookish and we will be discussing taking breaks from reading. The Let’s Talk Bookish Meme is a weekly meme that is created and hosted by Rukky@EternityBooks and Dani@Literary Lion. Today’s theme was suggested by Lydia @ Lydia Scoch.

Do you ever take breaks from reading? Yes but it usually comes because I am in a book slump. Book slumps usually happen for me if I force myself to finish a book I am not enjoying at all or if I read too many books in a similar genre and I get bored with my reading.

What causes you to take a reading break and how long are they typically? Book slumps and they can last a day or two till a couple of weeks. They usually do not last longer than a month.

When would you recommend reading breaks to others? I think everyone is different and it is up to that individual if they want to take a break from reading.

Do you think reading breaks help you to read more in the long run? I don’t think they help me read more but they usually come at a time when I need a shake up of the content that I am consuming. I usually rotate between romance, scifi/fantasy and thrillers and my breaks usually come with a change.

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Becky and I am a Real Estate Agent/Stay At Home Mom and I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my husband, two kids, dog and cat. I am an avid reader and read on average 2-3 books a week. I started my blog because I needed a place where I could talk about books and put down my thoughts on all things book related.
